Snowshoe hiking
Snow shoe hikes and winter-hiking-trips through Saalbach Hinterglemm in the region of the Salzburger Land.
Skiing is not the perfect sport for you and for ski-touring-trips to the backcountry you do not have the right skills? You still want to experience the winter wonderland of Saalbach Hinterglemm? Not problem – put your snow shoes on and come to one of our amazing winter-hiking-trips through the Glemmtal-valley.
In winter most of the hiking trails you probably know from summer transform into beautiful, scenic and romantic winter-hiking-trails and guide you to the most beautiful winter-spots of the Glemmtal valley. Try the loop around the “Talschluss” the very end of the valley and do not forget to dress up warm – most parts of the loop do not see much sun in wintertime. For those of you, who want to have more sun, a hike to the “Schwarzachergraben” is a good idea or make your way to the famous “Spielberghaus”. Be careful, if you hike near ski-slopes – not every fast skier can stop immediately.
Make sure that you come along one of the famous huts and cabins during your hike. Saalbach Hinterglemm is famous for it’s mountain huts, most of them can be found near ski-slopes and offer inviting warm drinks and refreshments. No snow-shoe-hike is complete without a cup of warm “Glühwein” or “Jaegertee”. We know the right place for you – especially if the sun is shining. Hike up the hill in Saalbach and swing by the Maisalm. The sun-patio is the right place to take a rest and enjoy the stunning view over the winter-valley.
